Hallooo
I am currently on half term but nearly starting summer. That time of year when study leave give you a taste of Summer and then you remember you have exams left, well I have one, the dreaded Business Studies.
Now I struggle with Business it was a completely random choice when I chose it. It was a result of me worrying with what can I do with Art, so I thought Business will help keep my options open. This plan didn't really work. Creative, hand on subjects were my strong point, so textiles would have been smart and I had the background of taking Fashion GCSE.
Taking Business Studies at college put me in a situation with a teacher I don't really get along with and his method of teaching doesn't really click with me. I think this early knock to my confidence before Christmas really then determined my overall performance generally at College. I always felt I worked hard but I'm aware and can tell those results I get in August won't be a good representation of myself.
Please if you are at the stage of choosing your subjects pick things you enjoy and are passionate about not ones that will 'keep you options open'. every option you choose will have a vast amount of opportunities so don't worry.
I'll months in College are stressful but just give that last little push and you'll be so proud of yourself when you finish completely for Summer..
I was really struggling with relaxing during this time so thought I give some tips for exam weeks:)
~ Give yourself a half an hour break when coming home from college whether its so have a snack or just to sit peacefully with a cup of tea, just relax
~ Start revision while you're alert
I tried to do 2 hours before tea (usually 7.30 ish) then 2-3 hours after tea
3 hours I found was a good median, if you did this consistently each night there will be no need for long late nights
~ Organise your notes & be creative!
try to make it fun add colour and pictures (mind maps work for me)
~ Create a list of words that can be used on the morning of the exam to jog your memory and work as a effective revision tool.
~ Make sure you get to sleep at a reasonable time this will allow the information learnt from your revision to settle and give you the best chance of remembering it
~ Try snacking on a banana(always worked for me;) )and healthy nutritious foods.
Stay relaxed.
There are many opportunities waiting out there for you!
