Madrid dia 3 y 4 (i think hehe)

Sorry I couldnt get a post to you last night it turned out to be rather late when we got in and I came down with sickness the early hours of this morning.

Saturday we returned back to the park (which I still need to find out the name off). Once we got there we had a pit stop at one of the little cafes in the park and had a bit of lunch. I had some macaroni which was lovely, just enough to keep me going and a fanta to wash it all down with :)
We then walked up to the lake to have a go on the little rowing boats. I even had a go with the oars. The fish in the water were ever so funny they kept leaping out really high and landing just near enough to splash us. It was such a lovely way to view the park and only 7,50 euros for 45 minutes, you're allowed 4 in a boat at once. It wasn't too hot yesterday either, perfect weather to be out on a boating lake:)

It was getting nearer to the time we schedueled to return to the apartment in order to be ready in time to meet Jess's au pairing family. We all put our best dress' on and headed off out. We decided to walk through the palace gardens which were ever so beautiful and relaxing. These were on the way to the bus station for us to hop onto a bus to Alcorcon. It was about 10 past 8 when we arrived and we weren't supposed to be at Jose and Ana's appartment until half past so we walked around and found a park bench to perch on for a little while.

When we got to their appartment we were greeted to 2 little girls watching 'UP' whom which jess refers to as the 'cheeky monkeys'. We got a tour of their two floor appartment and introduced to 'limon mahou' which I naively didn't realise was alcoholic.

The two girls got there little shoes on and off we went to the restaurant. We had a little wait before being seated but the food was worth it. It was  tricky for vegetarians particularly those who dont eat fish either, as the spanish typically eat seafood and meat and the majority of their menu was this. Although we all managed to cope. It was about 2.30 am when we got home.

Today was a late start as I was rather ill and as a result didn't get much sleep. I had a cup of tea on the terrace to get me going before getting ready.
The first activity was a lovely drink on the roof of the town hall, I had a refreshing orange juice which I enjoyed thoroughly while watching the world go by. Everything is a little pricey but the view is worth it. I could imagine it would be place to really come alive at  night time with a music and modern glamourous feel about it.
We also looked around the art exhibition on the floor below. There was such an amazing piece which was bathroom furniture positioned to allow flowing water to run through.  Human figurea were projected into the water to flow around the installation, it was ever so clever.
After the short refreshment we went to the park again to have a chocolate ice cream by the boating lake. We were positioned right next to a street performer who was painted purple with  a  guitar just completely still.
By this time it was nearer teatime so after a short break on the grass in the park we headed to the appartment to get ready for a meal out.
We ended up at a lovely little spanish bar (which may have been mexican oops) on one of the little backstreets. I had a margherita pizza. Afterwards to we bought some ben & jerry's to accompany us on our last little night time adventure around Madrid.
