Holaaaaa amigos!
Day 2 in madrid and it has been lovely.
Beginning the day with a lie in to energise ourselves again after the sleepless night before. We had to wait for jess to arrive again but I killed time reading my company mag in the sun. She had to see to the children who she au pairing for :)
The first activity was a stroll to the city tours bus stop where we hopped on to recieve some rather fetching red earphones along the way. These allowed a knowledgable american lady to speak down our earholes about every landmark possible. It was quite spectacular to see all the skyscrapers and learn all the facts. I would definatelt recommend as it's such a easy and exciting way to get a real feel for the city. I have visited spain before but the areas I have been to are usually little seaside villages so it was lovely to experience the hussle and bussle of the big city.
We got off near a train station to venture around some beautiful botanical gardens, which were truly relaxing and peaceful. It was quite like a national trust place back at home you pay a small fee to nosey around:)
Across the road is a humungous park apparently 5X as big as hyde park back in england. Well this park is beautiful (I shall find out the name for you) complete with a boating lake and ice cream parlour which of course I stopped off at . We are hopefully going back tomorrow as we only saw a small fraction of it.
By this time it was getting to teatime so we headed back to santa ana to find somewhere to eat. We ended up in a little italian as they catered for vegetarians. This restaurant was run by a cute little spanish family who supplied all homemade food. I had a magherita pizza and a chocolate mousse dessert complete with a small sangria.
At about eleven o'clock we headed home and relaxed a little more on the balcony. It was a little cooler tonight surprisingly I got goosebumps hehe.
Hopefully once I'm home I'll be able to do a little blog post of photos. Sorry there isn't any today I didnt take my phone out with me they're all on my camera.
Thank you for following my little adventure posts, see you tomorrow X
